I had considered using a service such as Adsense when I had to upgrade my hosting bill. At the moment I'm in two minds about it. It would be nice to cover part of the cost of the hosting bill, yet ever since I've being paying for hosting I've enjoyed having an ad-free site (and I'm sure my visitors have too!). I also don't think that my site is popular enough to generate anything decent. A high percentage of visitors wouldn't bother to click on the ads at all. Does anyone have any idea as to statistics in general of web surfers who actually click on the ads?

Well Lysia, your site is about the same popularity as mine, if not a little more, and I've not got a high click through rate, but I've got enough so far to pay for 5 months worth of hosting bills.

Hmm, that's not too bad at all. Although my bills are more than yours :( But that's not the point.

Ouch, you should see if you can get hosted on Zelda Legends. They have really good fees. But then again, you on AUD, which is something that scares me XD.

But if you can badger some of you more dedicated members into clicking once a day, through other means than your forums, then you should earn a steady revenue.

In most other communities, you'd earn a fortune. But the Zelda world sucks for ads.

I've considered Zelda Legends, and their hosting fee is quite reasonable, but what puts me off is the fact that they seem to have server troubles occasionally. (And AUD isn't scary!)

I'm still undecided. Ads are so ugly :P

Not if you make them blend into your layout. It's not like... say... Yahoo or something. lol
