I see tutorial sites as majorly resources for hints and tips. Many may say: well obviously! But, some people will go with a tutorial the whole way and will refuse to make any modifications. It's great to be able to use the tutorial as a starting point that will enable you to branch off to other areas. But, I can personally admit that I've followed tutorials till the end and claimed that the work produced was genuinly mine we all learn from our mistakes though and I currently ensure that I maintain a high standard of originality.

Shame on you! Nah, I don't think you're the only one who's done that in the earlier stages of a "designer" career, so don't fret.

Oh and also, don't forget to add these resources to our directory of links, if you think a site is actually worth looking at! *points up to the menu on the upper right*

I used to use the standard tutorial and then skip a stage to see what happened. I see tutorials as simple and helpful guides to your own ways of working.

Yes, tutorials are a great starting point for learning new things. I often use tutorials on different text effects when making logos, and also try to mix different tutorials together. Sometimes it even comes out with a decent result.

Not tutorials, but just as handy.

Deviant Art has quite a bit of good PS downloads on there. There's a lot of crap, but if you're patient, you'll come across some really good brushes.

I have never used any tutorials. I like learning things on my own and making my own tutorials. I think I have some on good-tutorial but most I give to friends to teach them how to use photoshop.
