Fonts, What To Use
I'm currently working on a design and I was wondering what fonts are best to use? For some of the page areas I was thinking of using Comic Sans but I dont really have an idea of how many systems have this font pre-installed.

No, no, no and no.
Comic Sans is a very widespread font, but never use it in a design. Don't even use it in the graphical parts of a design. I can honestly not picture it looking good. That's the kind of font you use on AIM.
For content and menu areas, Verdana is a great font to use, though it is very common. In some cases, Arial works well, too.

No to Comic Sans at all times, it's a big no no. I agree with Captain Cornflake, Veranda and Arial is always good.

Tahoma is a nice one as well; it's along the lines of Verdana. But, I'm not sure if it's as common as the other two. I'm not really a fan of Arial myself, but since just about everyone has it, it's a good back-up.

I used to use Tahoma, however I switched to Verdana when someone pointed out that they are similar, however Verdana is easier to read. And I agree, the letter spacing looks a little nicer. However, in my opinion Verdana starts to look ugly the larger it gets.

More often than not I go with Times New Roman, as I like it the most. Although, most don't.
